The roof has extra insulation over the living area

We did it!  We bought a property...a very cool property...a retirement property...a playground for the next three to five years...sixty-eight mostly wooded acres.  Even when I first saw the listing I knew this was the place for us.  I mean, who else would want an array of solar panels, a partially finished log cabin, a double-wide for guests, off-the-grid living complete with fruit trees, bee hives, a pond, chicken coops???

The main floor will be kitchen, living/dining, laundry, guest room and full bath.

 The second floor will be master suite and crafting loft!

The basement - filled now with appliances, flooring and supplies - will be Dave's Man Cave :)

 

We have a lot to learn about solar energy...

This past weekend we met with a log cabin builder and his wife.  They gave us many tips, told us the things we can do ourselves, and are working up prices for the things we can't do ourselves.  I'll keep you posted!
